Many of us enjoy our barbeque meats and fishes and other foods on the grill. It’s important to note that if the food is not properly cooked on the barbeque, that is, all the way through that’s a risk for whole host of gastrointestinal or stomach infections, and these include things like Salmonella, Campylobacter and E. Coli and they’re particularly prevalent in the summer because on the barbeque you can char the outside but not neccessarily cook the inside to the appropriate temperature. so proper handling of raw meats is important in order to prevent disease. Secondly, ensuring that it’s cooked to the proper temperature and for an adequate duration of that temperature in order to prevent disease from the contaminated food. And then thirdly good hand-washing around meat preparation before and after handling the meats. All of these are the major things we can do to protect ourselves.
